Early session for me at Eastbourne Extreme, on the water before 7am on Rocket 125 with 7.4m Remedy. Wind was a bit twitchy varying between cross-shore & cross-off, but a good pre-brekkie 'power-hour'.
Came ashore, did brekkie, rigged 9.8m GTX and the loaned Exocet Formula Warp anticipating some formula racing ... took for a spin to tweak set up and sailed like a complete numpty in increasing winds and progressively lumpier seas as wind picked up. Went back in to make adjustments and got collared for organisational duties.
As I'd missed race one I helped out with the Surf-Sales demo and took some time to do some testing of some of the Exocet boards.
As my Rocket was still rigged up, I then decided that I'd use that to go and check out the rest of the event and Spray Watersports new centre which looks fab.
Had a really good day windsurfing, but managed to do no races at all through various 'tasks' needing doing, plus lending the Formula Warp to new Exocet rider, Ricky Wooding, mean't I'd lost my ride when I did have chance to race.
Good to see so many familiar faces at the event, and better still, it was great to have some wind !
